Saks Fifth Ave
2018 | Stand and Build
Stand and Build installed enlarged replicas of designer handbags in seventeen windows along the Saks façade. Outisde vendors scanned the real handbags and CNC-ed the 3D data in high-density foam. Stand and Build then painted the replicas to appear like various kinds of marble, and staged them in square dioramas—each with unique material, form, and lighting.
My role on this project was to design and produce laser-cut hardware and logos that were too fine to be registered during 3D scanning or CNC-ing. I also coordinated the application of black vinyl to the exteriors of windows (to create square apertures for each diorama), and photographed the installation for display on our company website.
