Anomaly is a typeface designed to say something clearly but quietly. Traditionally, typography is all foreground in pictorial space (like the text you are reading now). It floats on the surface of the page. The gaps in Anomaly, however, create tension between the foreground and background, so that the words are always disappearing as you read them. This provides one possible tool for somebody looking to set type with subtlety. This is a work in progress.
